Windsong Voice and Yoga

Educating and Empowering Through Music, Movement & Yoga

Yoga & Movement Background

Madeline began practicing yoga in 2012, while in the midst of completing her graduate studies in vocal performance at the University of Maryland. She noticed immediately that consistent yoga practice helped to reduce her overall stress levels, reduce excess physical tension, calmed her breathing and improved her posture, all of which had implications in her singing and vocal teaching.

After five years of practicing various yoga styles, she completed her 200 hour certification in Vinyasa Yoga at Kali Yoga Studio with Abby Dobbs in 2017. Following her certification, she continued her studies of Ashtanga Yoga with Michael Joel Hall. Always curious to unlock excess tension, Madeline discovered self-myofascial release, a practice that when paired with yoga, can lead to improved posture and became a certified RAD Yoga Mobility and Recovery Specialist in 2022

I am a pioneer
Newness in the everyday
Being with the breath
Riding on waves of motion
Noticing my mind moving
Out of my head
into experience
Into presence
Into this moment.

A place to heal
By learning to feel
Growing to accept
Slowly and in time
Every aspect that arises
As it swims up to the surface,
Showing itself.
I see you
Washing through,
Passing away.
I am watching.

“May all beings everywhere be happy and free, and may the thoughts, words, and actions of my own life contribute in some way to that happiness and to that freedom for all.” ~ Closing Mantra
