It has been my great pleasure and privilege to witness countless examples of empowerment, increased self-confidence, and personal and artistic growth in the lives and voices of hundreds of students over the past 15 years of my career as a professional voice educator.  As such, I have seen again and again how studying voice can add great richness and depth to an individual’s life, regardless of age or ability level, and how it can serve as a valuable form of self-study as well as an outlet for creativity and self-expression.

Traditional Voice lessons

For students primarily focused on singing goals; learning & interpreting repertoire, preparing for auditions & performances, honing vocal technique (classical & contemporary), etc. Some body awareness exercises, tension releases, etc. to supplement singing goals.

Voice / Yoga / Movement Integration

For voice students interested in creating a personalized yoga / movement practice to help re-enforce postural / alignment goals and supplement their singing.

Voice / Yoga / Self-Myofascial Release (SMR) Integration

For voice students interested in implementing strategies for releasing tension that supplement the tension patterns addressed in singing & speaking.

Lesson Length: 30, 45 or 60 minutes

Teaching style

I approach singing from a holistic perspective.  To clarify, I believe that the entirety of a person; their ideas, emotions, physicality, breath patterns, and energy levels can have an impact on their voice.  In addition to my voice degrees, I am certified in Vinyasa Yoga and Self-Myofascial Release and have additional experience & education in other somatic and speech modalities, including Laban Movement Analysis, Alexander Technique, Lessac Kinesensics, Linklater Voice, and meditation.  It is a joy to guide students along a journey of self-discovery as they uncover and discover their authentic voice!
